The festival is a free event for all ages, however entry fees apply to specific ticketed events throughout the festival.


Rockhampton River Festival will be held along Victoria Pde, Quay St and the Riverside.

You can arrive at the festival by Plane, Train & Two-way Lane.

Getting to the Festival

There are a number of different ways to get to the Rockhampton River Festival.

- Drive your car, there is a range of car parking available within the region. Drink responsibly and make the necessary preparations to have a designated driver.

- Call a taxi, so you don't have to worry about parking and can enjoy a responsible drink.

- Catch a bus. Youngs Bus Service has a range of different services travelling from the Capricorn Coast, Gracemere and Mount Morgan.


What is a festival without people, and with people comes cars and parking. For everyone who is attending there is ample parking available, however it may involve just a little bit of a walk. But hey, its the perfect way to work off all the wonderful food and drinks that you will consume while at the festival!

Car parks are available at:

  • Pilbeam Theatre Carpark,

  • Rockhampton Regional Council Carpark corner Derby & Alma Streets

  • Throughout the City Centre,

  • Kern Arcade Carpark,

  • Huish Drive Riverfront

There will be limited ATM's available on the festival site. There is also an ATM located at the Criterion Hotel and Heritage Hotel.

There are ticket booths located across the festival ALL Ticketed Events will require you to purchase your tickets pre-event. You will be required to have a copy of your ticket to present on arrival. Seats and events are limited!


Security will be onsite throughout the event 24/7 to ensure the safety of all participants.

First Aid

If you require medical assistance make your way to the First Aid area located on Quay Street near the children’s playground, report to any of our information booths or see any of our friendly staff who can call for assistance.

Alcoholic Beverages

Alcoholic Beverages will be served in designated areas throughout the event and will be 18+ only. You will be required to have a photo ID to be served alcohol and can be refused service if too intoxicated by law.

With 300 days of sunshine average per year in Rockhampton it is hoped that the three days of the festival will be clear and sunny. Please ensure you slip, slop and slap as there are parts of the festival that are not undercover.

In the event of inclement weather, festival goers will still be able to enjoy entertainment and activities under the many event tents with all ticketed events undercover.

Sun Safety

Although the festival will be held during winter, we still recommend being sun smart during the day so SLIP, SLOP, SLAP!

Prohibited Items

We are all here to have a great time so don't spoil it for others around you. Prohibited items include - Drugs, unauthorised alcohol, cars (except authorised emergency vehicles) & unhappy people!

Application for Market Stalls & Performers

Applications for the 2019 River Festival are now closed. If you’d like to be involved in 2020’s River Festival event, kindly email us and we’ll put you on our mailing list. The process generally begins in January each year.


Hard copies of the program will be distributed to accommodation providers and visitor information centres within the region.

Festival Times

The Festival will commence at 5pm on Friday 12th July 2019 and will close at 4pm Sunday 14th July. Panache performances will continue until the following Saturday (20st July) post festival.

Friday 12th – 5pm -10pm

Saturday 13th – 10am – 10pm

Sunday 14th – 10am – 4pm
