Each year more than 100,000 people go through the gates of the Bravus Rockhampton River Festival with many of them being visitors to our wonderful region. River Festival is the perfect excuse to take some time to explore Rockhampton and we look forward to welcoming you to our region.

Stay and Play

Not many cities can offer central accommodation with river and mountain views.

Rockhampton offers a selection of boutique and contemporary hotels, luxury rooms, budget style and self-contained apartments, catering to a variety of needs and budgets – many located on the southern side of the Fitzroy River, enjoying panoramic river, hinterland and city views whilst being a stone’s throw away from award winning restaurants, funky bars and major events.

This years festival accommodation partner is Empire Apartment Hotel.  The Empire is the best location to see some of the amazing river light shows that are planned for this years event. It is also only 100m from the festival entrance.

Getting Here

Located just 5km from the city centre, Rockhampton Airport (ROK) is a major Australian regional airport servicing Rockhampton and Central Queensland, with flights to Brisbane, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns.

Rockhampton is the central hub to the Capricorn and Leichardt Highways, Australia’s Country Way and Pacific Way (Bruce Highway). The city is an accessible stopping point for many self-drive holidays and coach tours.

Queensland Rail offers multiple services a week to Rockhampton from Brisbane return on the popular high speed Tilt Train; as well as regular services on the Spirit of Queensland to the north and Spirit of the Outback to the west.
