Messy Mural

Messy Murals by Aphrodite Art School

At River Festival 2025 the Aphrodite Art School allowed visitors to let loose and make a mark! The Messy Mural was a large-scale, unstructured painting experience where children of all ages can express themselves freely with brushes, rollers, sponges and splashes of colour. There are no rules, no “right” way — just a giant shared canvas and an open invitation to be bold, messy, and completely yourself.

Whether you’re painting wild strokes across a mural or building a spinning bloom, Julianne and her wonderful team’s warm and encouraging presence makes it easy for young artists to feel safe, seen, and celebrated. Aphrodite Art School’s creative spaces are designed to spark imagination, nurture confidence, and remind us all that art is for everyone.

The Messy Mural was a part of the Art Link located behind Rockhampton Museum of Art (RMOA) and Customs House and still can been seen.
