Rockhampton River Festival is excited to present this year’s Arts Program, inviting locals to take part in a range of creatively curated workshops in the Artist Collective Zone.

No matter the level of artistic ability, these workshops will give participants a hands-on outlet for creativity and expression.

Ceramic Wind Chime Painting & Assembly Workshop

with A Shade of Allusion

Ceramic wind chime painting and assembling classes where you will have an assortment of ceramic items to choose from which are already fired to bisque. You will be able to paint them with acrylic paint and make your own personally styled wind chime ready to take home.

Wispy Lady Portraits

with Emma Ward

Working with recycled and collaged materials, paints, pencils and crayons you will create a 'wispy lady' style portrait, approximately A3 in size. 

Recycled Tin Etching

with Wild Mount Morgan Clay

Enjoy a sustainable etching workshop using recycled tin where you will take home a framed tin etching you have made. Skills such as mark making, tonal techniques and bird/ flora sketching will be a focus. 

Colourful wooden fish Earring Workshop

with Arco Iris Interiors

Join Michelle for a charming wooden fish earring workshop which is fun, quick and easy as you make your way through the artist village. Customize your own pair using vibrant acrylic pens and then walk and wear your art!

Glass Art

with A Little Bit of Lovely Glass

You will create a glass cutting and design a small glass piece that will stand in a little wooden stand. The created artworks will go back to the artist’s studio to fuse and deliver back to Rockhampton post-festival.

Bush Brushes

with Emma Ward

Enjoy making and creating 'Bush brushes' from scavenged natural objects such as twigs, feathers and flowers to create loose, abstracted paintings with an emphasis on mark. You will create a finished artwork with an organic and natural finish.
