Moveable Type Studio

Moveable Type Studio

Step into the world of printmaking with Moveable Type Studio (MTS); a bold, 40-foot-long pink shipping container transformed into a mobile printmaking studio! Nestled in the Art Link behind the Rockhampton Museum of Art, MTS will be a vibrant hub of creativity and hands-on discovery during River Fest.

This eye-catching pop-up brings the timeless craft of printmaking to life through interactive workshops and live demonstrations, offering festival-goers of all ages a chance to roll up their sleeves and explore the art form that revolutionized communication since the days of the Gutenberg press.

“Books, newspapers, magazines, posters and brochures all used to be printed on machines like the ones we have in our studio and we want to share our enthusiasm for these traditional printing techniques with the whole community” said MTS founder Clint Harvey.

Whether you're an art enthusiast, a curious creative, or just looking for something fun and inspiring, MTS is your chance to connect with history and creativity.

The Moveable Type Studio residency has been made possible with funding from the Regional Arts Fund. The Regional Arts Fund is managed by Regional Arts Australia on behalf of the Australian Government and administrated by Flying Arts in Queensland.
