Lachlan Plain / Sanctum Studio
Join multi-disciplinary artist, Lachlan Plain, for a FREE film screening and Q+A at Arts on the Fringe.
These six films were created using various media, including super-8 footage, life-size puppets, stop motion animation and oil paint on glass.
Each film is a meditation on different aspects of our landscape - fire, metamorphosis and our colonial past.
Plain blurs the boundaries between natural and artificial - conflating war with bushfire, seed distribution with human migration, and the growth of a child with the metamorphosis of a butterfly. These films span fifteen years. They were created alongside Plains visual arts practice - being featured in plays, exhibitions and land art installations.
